Copp & Sons Building Movers is a third generation family business, established in 1956 by Clayton H Copp Sr. when he moved his own house onto a new lot. The interest people showed in his project led him to develop a business where he saw a need.
Considered one of the largest building moving companies in the state, Copp & Sons is equipped to move or jack any type or size of building. Utilizing specialized equipment built themselves, they are able to move structures through steep and difficult terrain. For buildings that need to be jacked and held for new foundations, they are able to secure the structure outside of the footprint, giving excavators complete access to the foundation, speeding up the project. They also provide sill and post replacement work, along with leveling of barns and other structures.
Since 1956, Copp & Sons has moved thousands of structures ranging in size from a small chicken coop to a 320 foot strip mall that was moved in one piece. They have done work on many historical buildings, helping to preserve them in their current or new locations. Whether it's a jack and hold, or moving a building on the same lot or miles down the road – there is no job they have not been able to do!
Clayton Sr passed away in 2003, and his wife Virginia in 2012. The business is currently run by their sons Clayton Jr. and Clifton Copp, along with four of their grandsons, all of who have been working for the business their whole lives. They continue Clayton Sr.’s traditions of hard work and customer satisfaction.
